Cuteness alert!
I made this romper for my daughter as she often complains that she doesn't have any trampoline clothes! .. apparently, the majority of her clothes slip/fall down when bouncing on the trampoline and she doesn't like wearing dresses on it as she likes her knees protected. Solution: a romper!
Pattern is this one.
Fabric is this light weight jersey.
Did I like the pattern, was it easy to make?
Yes!
I stuffed up the binding (I didn't read the instructions properly and made the binding too narrow) but I overcame that problem by using a skinnier (hat) elastic for the neckline & used a wool needle to thread it thru.
I plan on making more of these as I've got lots of great fabric to use, it's an easy pattern to sew and I'm sure it'll look super cute on!
….. I've just got to convince her to take off her swimmers so she can try it on for me!

Alley Cat
I wanted to make something fun for Joe his 8th birthday. I put my thinking cap on & revved up my internet searching and came up with this awesome pattern.
A little cat that lives in an alley in a garbage can, perfect!I changed the pattern slightly on the garbage can but I still think it looks super cute.
Ironically, in real life, our garbage cans don't actually look like this, we have big green wheelie bins but hey, we've all seen enough episodes of Sesame Street to see Oscar the Grouch who lives in a garbage can!
There were some more different shapes cats that I could have made but I chose this one because he actually pops inside the garbage can.
I used CottonSoft yarn from Hobium Yarns. I used the colour #23 for the cat and the colour #49 for the garbage can.
The pattern is called Alley Cats from this designer.
So, what do you think of my alley kitty?
When I gave it to Joe, he loved it! He doesn't call it the alley cat, he calls it the Kitty in the Cookie Tin .. as our cookie tin looks a bit like this!

Planning on making..
It's the busy time a year, a time where I try to squeeze in way to much that I can possibly fit in BUT these are my makey plans.
For Joe's upcoming 8th birthday, I have a list of things to make but eep, time is ticking down!
I'm crocheting an alley cat toy, making the hedgehog from this book and hopefully will have time to make him this 'star' top but if not then hopefully I can squeeze it in for Christmas! I bought him something different than I'd normally would have but I thought he might like it - have you ever had a Tamagotchi?
For teachers gifts, I'll be making some water bottle covers using this tutorial and will also be making some up for the kids - they'll be handy when we go on our long walks these upcoming school holidays.
Ok, down to Christmas morning.
Hubby:
I'll be making him some boxers using this pattern. If I have time, I'll try to make him a vest as he really liked the one I made Joe a few months ago.
Joe:
He's always wanted some sort of overalls, so I found these ones which will be good for summer. A pair of these trousers, these cute shorts and maybe this top.
Laney:
A cute romper, the Daniella skirt but I'll try to make it long as she really, really loves them long and maybe this willow dress.
Kids: I want to make this suitcase and fill it with doll clothes as they both love playing doll dress-ups -- this is a 'if I have the time' project so I'm not counting on it for a major pressie.
Their main present is something that they could each have but they could play together. I hope they can use the bands on the trampoline as well in the car and at home too.
