Book find: The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt


The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt: 55 Letters and the 111 Blocks They Inspired I bought myself a treat!
This book is so sweet and awesome and inspiring... I just had to buy it.
There are page after page of beautiful quilt blocks along with correspondence from mothers from the 1920s telling us whether they would want their daughter to marry a farmer. How sweet!!!
Each block is broken down into the pieces it is made up of - so easy, so inspiring.

    I do have this book, and I have made all of the templates, and a couple of blocks.. but I didn't like the fabric choices that I used. I am trying to re-think my fabric choices so that I will really love that quilt when I finish it. Such tiny pieces, and so as a new quilter it is a great educational tool to get my quilting going the right direction. Getting those seams just right will make a huge difference in piecing the quilt because of how many, and how tiny.. it makes me nervous. But fabric is what is really holding me back. I want it to be AWESOME.

    This are lovely! I just saw this beautiful quilted bed sheet a couple of days ago. And I really regret that I couldn't make something like that on my own! I really have to start on with some easy quilting.

    Do you have any suggestions for books about quilting for beginners?
