Have you ever been enthusiastically in the middle of a project, when all of a sudden..... you realise that you won't be able to finish the project!! Mainly due to lack of planning (on my part anyway) and you have to put the project aside to pick up another day.
Well, that's what I've done. Don't call me Crafty Rie anymore, call me Unplanned Rie or Unorganised Rie or 'Doesn't quite think things all the way through' Rie.
Why? The baby blanket I was making for a friend, well, I don't have enough yarn to finish it, I mean - I am not even a quarter of the way through and I'm almost out of yarn. AND, I don't have the time on my hands to search for more of the yarn, so I've got to put the project aside & start anew because I can't exactly ask her to delay having the baby just so I can finish off her present before the birth can I! UGH, why don't I think things through!!!!!!!

Easy as 123
I'm telling you, this join as you go crochet thingy is so, so easy!
I wish I done it when I made my very first granny squares blanket - I joined those with a single crochet.
How do you join your grannies?

Pin Cushion
Did you sign up to the pin cushion swap on the Foxs Lane blog?
I did and even managed to finish it in time and post it on time too!
I hope they liked it, I'm not really a sewing master, but I gave it the best shot that I could because the instructions were to make a pin cushion that our swap partner would love (from looking at their blog), so I certainly hope they appreciate the effort!
I can't wait to receive mine! I'm checking my post box every day!
BTW, I didn't upload the photo to the Pinnie's Flickr page... cos I've forgotten my Flickr password!

14
Mr & I just celebrated our 14th anniversary.
14 years, wow.
And being the sweetie that he is, he bought me two cool craft books.
The tea cosy book has a fantastic idea - making square pom poms - brilliant!

Holy Batman, Robin... it worked!
Yes, my first reaction was "HOLY CRAP IT WORKED!"
So, you're thinking.... what worked, has this girl gone insane?
Ok, well yes, sanity is a little thin on my part but yes, I created magic! Well, my kind of magic anyway!
With this baby blanket I'm making - I suddenly had a panic attack......"I hate sewing together granny squares".
Surely there has to be a better way.
So I sat staring at the last blanket I did - looking at the joins, my brain ticking over thinking "only if I can join them as I go". And then, well, something clicked into place, so why can't I join as I go? Humph, why can't I? Surely I can try?
Well, I tried and guess what, Holy Crap It Worked!
See......
Ok, so I'll admit, I had to do, undo, re-do, undo, re-do about three times, but hey, it worked and it looks good! Clever huh!
And because I am probably going to be an expert at it by the time I finish it.... did you want me to make a tutorial to show you how it's done too?
and the winner is....
And the winner of the 'ultra coolish daggy' tea towel is:
lol, it's Blackcrow - I'm sending the tea towel back where it came from!
Enjoy!

Giveaway
I have the daggiest of daggiest giveaways for you!
It is a 100% cotton Tasmania souvenir 2010 calendar tea towel!
I purchased whilst aboard the Spirit of Tasmania when we were sailing back from Tassie on Easter Monday.
The giveaway is only for my blogger friends/followers (new & old), just a way of saying thank you. All you have to do is leave a comment on the post below.
Entries are open all week & I will randomly pick the winner on Saturday the 17th April.
Good luck!
Oh, in case you were wondering why we were in Tasmania, we were collecting our 'old Tasmania car'; our Sandman Panel Van because our 'newish Melbourne Magna' was written off by the insurance after some idiot decided to jump a lane and ended up smashing into our car.
All are ok, expecting of the course the idiot who drove into us, but I guess he will always be an idiot.
Want to see the coolest car on earth? Yes? Well here is our Sandman Panel Van - he's just adorable!

I hate it when this happens
Do you hate this.....
You're in the middle of a crochet or knitting project, you've made good money for a good brand of wool,
when....
you get a knot in the yarn in the middle of the ball. A knot - where they have joined the yarn mid ball.
I hate it!

My Creative Space
When I start a new ball of yarn, I like to start the yarn from the inner - so it doesn't roll all around the floor.
Ugh, but in this case, I feel like I have ripped the heart out of the ball whilst I was searching for the end...... I feel so mean.....
So anyway, that means my creative mess oops, I mean my creative space is a pile of yarn all slowly tangling together. What's your space like, add it to Kootoyoo's Creative Space!
